The MATCHA T-shirt, Drôle d’époque style.
I wanted embroidery that felt lighter visually, yet still had enough character to be noticed. MATCHA grew from that idea: a simple word, slightly unexpected on a T-shirt, cleanly embroidered onto a heavyweight base.
The result is easy to wear, with the small offbeat detail that defines Drôle d’époque.
280 GSM heavyweight, Made in USA
I chose a Made in USA base in 280 GSM heavyweight 100% cotton. The dense knit gives the T-shirt real structure and a cleaner drape than a classic lightweight style.
The fabric is pre-washed to reduce shrinkage after the first washes.
Oversized, boxy fit
The fit is roomy through the body, with dropped shoulders and a slightly shorter length than a traditional oversized T-shirt. At 280 GSM, the garment keeps its shape without clinging to the body.
Custom MATCHA embroidery
The MATCHA artwork is custom embroidered for depth and texture. I favour embroidery over a simple print because it truly becomes part of the garment and lasts better over time.
